Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1. Remove drive belts.
2. Remove cylinder head as outlined under Cylinder Head Assembly.
3. Remove oil pans as outlined under Oil Pan, Engine.
4. Remove oil strainer and baffle plate.
5. Remove front cover assembly, Fig. 38.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Prior to installation, remove all traces of gasket material from mating surfaces.
b. Apply a bead of liquid gasket to mating surface of front cover assembly.
