SERVICE INFORMATION

If the HVAC mode door of a 1995 Sentra or 2OOSX vehicle binds on fan speeds three and four when the interior temperature is high, or when the heater
is placed in full hot (particularly when the control knob is rotated counter clockwise between defrost/foot and bi-level position), use the following
procedure to diagnose and repair the vehicle. The binding is caused by the foot door actuation link becoming bound in the guide slot and link.

The binding may cause the mode door control cable to become detached from the mode door actuation link, the heater box clip, or the control head. A
new mode door steel actuation link and a new foot door link have been developed to resolve these incidents.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Locate the mode door steel actuation link. The mode door steel actuation link is located on the left side of the heater box as shown in Figure 1.

Replace the mode door steel actuation link with a revised mode door steel actuation link P/N 27155-4B024. This revised mode door steel
actuation link has a bend in the lower arm that applies pressure to the foot door link, holding it firmly in the guide slot. Attach the revised mode
door steel actuation link loosely to the heater box with the pilot screw so that the other pieces can be installed more easily.

3.

Install a new foot door link P/N 2719-4B000 (one piece) on the foot door spindle and into the guide slot and link. Ensure the longer end of the foot
door link pin is toward the heater case.

4.

Install a plastic washer P/N 21692-4B000 between the defroster door link and the mode door steel actuation link. This will apply more pressure to
the lower arm and foot door link to hold it in position.
