Tie Rod: Specifications

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

Axial End Play "C":

Outer Ball Joint:  0.5 mm (0.0020 inch) or less
Inner Ball Joint:  0.4 mm (0.016 inch) or less

Rotating Torque "B":

Outer Ball Joint:  0.3 - 2.9 Nm (2.6 - 26.0 inch lbs.)

Swinging Force "A":

Tie Rod Outer Ball Joint:  6.9 - 64.7 N (1.5 - 14.6 lbs.)
Tie Rod Inner Ball Joint [1]:  0.2 - 215.8 N (0.04 - 48.5 lbs.)

Tie Rod Standard Length "L" [1]:  140.6 mm (5.54 inch)

TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS

Castle Nut:  29 - 39 Nm (87 - 139 inch lbs.)
Inner Lock Nut:  69 - 88 Nm (51 - 65 ft. lbs.)
Outer Lock Nut:  37 - 46 Nm (27 - 34 ft. lbs.)
