Refer to the illustrations when servicing.
1. Remove strut assembly fixing bolts and nuts (to hood ledge).
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE PISTON ROD LOCK NUT ON VEHICLE.
2. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

Torque the lower mounting bolts to 114 - 133 Nm (84 - 98 ft. lbs.) and the upper mounting bolts to 25 - 29 Nm (18 - 22 ft. lbs.).

Torque the piston rod lock nut to 59 - 74 Nm (43 - 54 ft. lbs.).
