1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, place temperature control lever in HOT position, and drain cooling system.

2.

Remove screws securing package tray, if equipped, then remove tray and bracket.

3.

Untie shifter boot, then remove screws securing console, and remove console.

4.

Remove A/C heater control as outlined in "Control Assembly, Replace."

5.

Disconnect antenna lead and wiring harness connectors, and remove radio.

6.

Disconnect cooler ducts, center ventilator duct and side defroster ducts from heater case.

7.

Disconnect wiring harness connectors to blower motor and resistor.

8.

Disconnect hoses at water valve inlet and heater core outlet, taking care not to drip coolant in passenger compartment.

9.

Remove bolts securing heater case, Fig. 58, then remove case.

10.

Remove heater core inlet hose.

11.

Remove clips securing heater case and separate case, then remove heater core.

12.

Reverse procedure to install.
