Pulsed Secondary Air Injection: Testing and Inspection

1. Check hoses for looseness, collapse, damage, or improper connection, and 
2. Check all components for correct installation. 
3. Check components for correct operation and replace if necessary.

Air Induction Valve

1. Disconnect EIA pipe from air induction valve, and apply suction and pressure to the valve.
2. Air should travel only toward the EIA pipe. Check reed valve from binding or damage, and check filter for plugging or damage. Replace as

needed.

Anti-Backfire (AB) Valve

1. With engine at operating temperature, remove air cleaner.
2. Disconnect inlet hose from AB valve and place finger near opening in valve.
3. Run engine at approximately 3,000 rpm and quickly release throttle.
4. If suction is not felt at opening replace AB valve.
