Fuel Check Valve: Testing and Inspection

Except 1979-8O 280ZX

1.  Blow air through connector on fuel tank side. A considerable resistance should be felt.
2.  Blow air through connector on engine side. Air should flow smoothly.
3.  If valve is not functioning properly, replace it.

1.  Remove check valve from car.
2.  Suck air through port "A", Fig. 167. A large air flow should be felt when sucked forcibly and no air flow should be felt when sucked softly.
3.  Suck air through port "B". A large air flow should be felt when sucked forcibly and no air flow should be felt when sucked softly.
4.  Suck air through port "B" while closing port "A". A large air flow should be felt when sucked forcibly and no air flow should be felt when sucked

softly.

5.  If air flow is not as described, replace valve.
