Valve Guide: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

1. To remove valve guide, heat cylinder head to 120 to 140° C (248 to 284° F). 

2. Drive out valve guide using a hammer and suitable tool or a press having a force of 20 kN (2 ton). 

3. Ream cylinder head valve guide hole. Valve guide hole diameter (for service parts):

Intake and exhaust: 11.175 - 11.196 mm (0.4400 - 0.4408 inch). 

4. Heat cylinder head to 120 to 140° C (248 to 284° F) and press service valve guide into cylinder head. Refer to the illustration, projection "L" is 

13.3 - 13.9 mm (0.524 - 0.547 inch).
