Fig. 3  Installing Wheel Hub Bearing.

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove wheel bearing locknut.

3.

Remove brake caliper assembly and support by frame using suitable wire.

4.

Separate driveshaft from axle housing (knuckle) by slightly tapping with a suitable soft face hammer, Fig. 1.

5.

Remove axle housing attaching bolts then the axle housing, Fig. 2.

6.

Remove wheel bearing with flange and wheel hub from axle housing.

7.

Using a suitable press, press off wheel bearing from wheel hub.

8.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install wheel bearing as shown in Fig. 3.
b. Check and ensure wheel bearing axial endplay is .0020 inch or less.
