Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair

Do not leave compressor on its side or upside down for more than 10 minutes. 

1.

Using suitable tool, remove valve attaching bolts.

2.

Remove suction valve and discard O-ring.

3.

Check seating surface of suction valve and shell for scratches and replace damaged part.

4.

If groove of shell O-ring is scratched, replace shell.

5.

Apply a coating of refrigerant oil to groove of O-ring and valve and install these parts in their proper position.

6.

Torque attaching bolts to 12-13 ft. lbs.
