1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Disconnect electric connector of thermotime switch.
3. Measure the resistance between terminal 46, Figs. 34 through 37, and switch body.
4. The resistance is zero when the cooling water temperature is less than 57° F.
5. The resistance is zero or infinite when the cooling water temperature is between 57-77° F.
6. The resistance is infinite when the cooling water temperature is more than 77° F.
7. Measure resistance between terminal 45, Figs--34 through 37--and switch body. Resistance should be 40 to 70 ohms on 1982-84 models.
