Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove front stabilizer bar attaching nuts and bolts from crossmember.

3.

Remove steering column shaft from gear housing.

4.

Remove tension rod-to-transverse link attaching nuts.

5.

Raise and support engine.

6.

Remove rear plate cover from transmission case.

7.

Remove oil pan attaching nuts.

8.

Remove crossmember attaching bolts, then the strut mounting insulator attaching nuts.

9.

Unfasten power steering tubes and refrigerant lines from crossmember, then lower crossmember and remove oil pan from rear side.

10.

Remove strainer from oil pump and cylinder head, then lower oil pump assembly from vehicle.

11.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque oil pan attaching nuts in sequence, Fig. 5, to specifications. Apply suitable sealant to designated areas, Fig. 6.
