Fuel Gauge Sender: Service and Repair

CAUTION:When replacing fuel parts, observe the following:

a.

Put a CAUTION or FLAMMABLE sign in work area.

b.

Keep a CO2 fire extinguisher readily available.

c.

Disconnect battery negative terminal prior to conducting operations.

d.

Put drained fuel in an appropriate, sealed container.

Fuel Tank Components

1.

Remove fuel tank gauge retaining bolts.

Fuel Tank Gauge Unit Removal

2.

Using a suitable wire lift fuel gauge unit straight up off fuel tank.

WARNING:The resistor gauge is made of ceramic material, use care not to bend it.

3.

Reverse removal procedures to install. Torque gauge unit retaining bolts to specifications.

Torque Value:

1.7 - 2.2 ftlb (2.3 - 3.0 Nm)
