SERVICE INFORMATION

The following procedure may be used to remove and reinstall or replace the power steering gear on 1987-88 300ZX models.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE:

1.

Allow vehicle to cool before beginning procedure.

2.

Write down radio presets, then disconnect negative battery cable at the battery terminal.

3.

Place ignition key in "accessory" position to allow wheels and steering rack to move freely.

4.

Raise vehicle about halfway up on hoist.

5.

Remove both front wheels.

6.

Disconnect both tie rod ends from knuckle arms. Use the separating tool illustrated below (Special Tool J25730-A).
