1.

Remove side flange with pry bar,

Scribe marks between side bearing caps and carrier.

3.

Remove side bearing cap bolts and the bearing caps.

4.

Remove differential case assembly.

5.

Loosen drive pinion nut, hold companion flange and pull companion flange.

6.

Drive pinion from carrier. Take out drive pinion together with rear bearing inner race, bearing spacer and adjusting washer.

7.

Remove oil seal.

8.

Remove pilot bearing with pilot bearing spacer and front bearing inner race.

9.

Remove side oil seal.

10.

Press rear bearing inner race from drive pinion.

11.

Drive out front and rear bearing outer races.

DIFFERENTIAL CASE

1.

Remove bearing.

2.

Remove ring gear.

3.

Remove pinion mate shaft lock pin from ring gear side. 

Lock pin is caulked at pin hole mouth on differential case.

4.

Remove pinion mate shaft and the pinion mate gears, side gears, thrust washers and thrust block, if equipped.

INSPECTION

    Thoroughly clean all disassembled parts, and examine them to see that they are worn, damaged or otherwise faulty, and how they are affected. Repair
or replace all faulty parts, whichever is necessary.
