Axle Shaft Replace Models W/Independent Suspension

1.

Raise and support rear of vehicle and remove rear wheels.

2.

Disconnect parking brake cable and brake hydraulic line. Plug brake hydraulic line to prevent fluid loss and entrance of dirt.

3.

Remove brake caliper and rotor as outlined under ``Caliper, Replace'' in ``Disc Brake Section.''

4.

Disconnect driveshaft from axle shaft.

5.

Remove wheel bearing locknut.

6.

Remove axle shaft with suitable puller.

7.

Remove companion flange, grease seal, and inner bearing.

8.

Remove outer bearing from axle shaft, using suitable puller.

9.

To install, reverse procedure.
