1.

Wash cover with HOT soapy water, then rinse.

2.

Clean the cover with Sikkens Anti-Static degreaser (Refer to Sikkens TDS # 6.27).

3.

Sand entire cover with # 360 sand paper or red scuffing pad.

4.

To ensure all mold release agent is removed, the bumper can be heated at 140° F for 45 minutes.

Allow bumper to cool completely before cleaning.

5.

Clean cover with Sikkens Anti-Static degreaser.

6.

Allow cover to dry 20-30 minutes.

Coating PUR (polyurethane) bumper covers

7.

Apply two coats of Sikkens Plastoflex Primer allowing 5-10 minutes flash dry between coats at 70° F (20° C).

8.

Allow Plastoflex Primer to dry 20 minutes at 70° F (20°C).

9.

Apply appropriate top coats.

Note:

Always take into consideration local VOC regulations, flexible additives, possibly Nissan Non-Scratch Clear or any other concerns.

Coating PP (polypropylene) bumper covers

7.

Apply 1 single coat of Sikkens Primer PO (Refer to Sikkens TDS # 2.5.1).

8.

Allow cover to dry 10-15 minutes at 70° F (20° C).

9.

Apply appropriate top coats.

Note:

Always consider local VOC regulations, flexible additives, possibly Nissan Non-Scratch Clear or any other concerns.

Dupont Procedures

Bumper Cover Preparation PUR or PP

1.

Wash with soap and water and 2319S Plastic Prep.

2.

Sand thoroughly with # 400 - # 600 grit paper or scuff pad.

3.

Remove sanding sludge and eliminate static with 2319S Plastic Prep. To ensure all of the mold release agent is removed, you can:

Temper the raw plastic at 140° F for 45 minutes to get rid of mold release agents (do not sand after tempering).

Then remove mold release agents with 23195.

Coating PUR (polyurethane) or PP (polypropylene) bumper covers

4.

Apply 2322S according to label directions (to ensure adhesion).

5a.

Apply light coats of URO Prime 1120S with 92505 Flexible Additive (for surfacing).

or

5b.

Apply 1 coat of Prime 'N Seal (for sealing).

6a.

Basecoat/Clearcoat Procedures

1.

Topcoat with Chroma Base Basecoat according to label directions.

2.

Clearcoat Chroma Base Basecoat with Chroma Clear High Glamour 7800S or Chroma Clear MULTI Use 75005.
