1.

Wash the bumper cover with ICI Autocolor P273-901 Bodykleen mixed 1 part Bodykleen with 4 parts water. Rinse with clean water.

Scrub using Autocolor Cleaner for Plastics, P273-1333 mixed 1:1 with water using gray scuff pad to remove mold release agents.

Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry.

Note:

If water beads when rinsing, all mold release agents have not been removed and step 2 will need to be repeated.

To ensure all mold release agent is removed, the bumper cover can be heated to 140° F for 45 minutes. Allow bumper cover to cool completely.

5.

Wipe fascia using ICI Autocolor AntiStatic cleaner for plastics P273-1050. Use 1 lint-free cloth to apply and another for removing particles.

To apply paint to the bumper cover, follow the procedure listed below based upon bumper cover material type.

Coating PUR (Polyurethane) bumper covers

Apply 1 double coat of ICI Autocolor Universal Plastic Primer P572-167 (pre-packaged) to fascia, film build 0.8 - 1.0 mil. Allow to dry 15-20
minutes at 70°F.

Apply 1 double coat of Extraprime P565-777.
ICI Autocolor Autoclear Flexible Additive P100-2020 should be added before activation at a 5:1 ratio.

Material should then be activated and thinned at the normal 3:1:2 ratio.

3 parts 777, 1 part P210-796 or P210-798 hardener, 2 parts P850-1275 or P850-1276 thinner.

Allow to dry 30 minutes at 70°F before applying color coat.

Apply ICI Autocolor P422 Basecoat color, P421 Single Layer Metallic or P420 Single Layer Solid color. When using P420 or P421 ICI
Autocolor, Flexible Additive P100-2020 should be added before activation at a 5:1 ratio then activate and thin normally.

Note:

For optimum performance when using Basecoat system, keep basecoat film builds to a minimum.

9.

If clearcoating, apply ICI Autocolor 2K MS Clearcoat P190-596.

ICI Autocolor Flexible Additive should be added at a 5:1 ratio before activation.

2K MS Clearcoat P190-596 would then be activated normally. (3 parts P190-596 1 part P210-832, 796, 798, 828 MS Hardeners)

Coating PP (Polypropylene) bumper covers

Apply 1 double coat of ICI Autocolor Plastic Primer B P572-212 (pre-packaged) to fascia, film build 0.5 mii. Allow to dry 15-20 minutes at 70°F.

7.

Apply 1 double coat of Extraprime P565-777.

ICI Autocolor Autoclear Flexible Additive P 100-2020 should be added before activation at a 5:1 ratio.

Material should then be activated and thinned at the normal 3:1:2 ratio.

3 parts 777, 1 part P210-796 or P210-798 hardener, 2 parts P850-1275 or P850-1276 thinner.

Allow to dry 30 minutes at 70°F before applying color coat.

Apply ICI Autocolor P422 Basecoat color, P421 Single Layer Metallic or P420 Single Layer Solid color. When using P420 or P421 ICI
Autocolor Flexible Additive P 100-2020 should be added before activation at a 5:1 ratio then activate and thin normally.

Note:

For optimum performance when using Basecoat system, keep basecoat film builds to a minimum.

9.

If clearcoating, apply ICI Autocolor 2K MS Clearcoat P190-596.

ICI Autocolor Flexible Additive should be added at a 5:1 ratio before activation.
