The door "waist molding" has nine metal tabs along its length. These tabs go through slots in the plastic finisher (see Figure 2A).

The tabs fold under to attach the waist molding to the door finisher fabric. Finisher Fabric "Pulls Away":

If the metal tab closest to the back of the door unfolds (see Figures 2A and 2B), the waist molding can come loose from the finisher.
