HARNESS SERVICE AFTER DEPLOYMENT

SERVICE INFORMATION:

When replacing the front passenger-side air bag module:

The factory-installed air bag module has a different connector style than the service replacement part.

Also, heat from a front passenger air bag deployment may have caused damage to the factory-installed harness connector(s).

For replacement of the air bag module, a second "adapter connector" has been provided.

This connector is taped to the main harness in the vehicle (see Figure 1).

It is located behind the passenger air bag module.

^

Part of the replacement process also includes "servicing" the vehicle main harness.

Harness Service Overview:

Untape the new yellow "adapter connector" from the vehicle main harness.

At the vehicle main harness: Use wire cutters to remove both previously-used factory air bag module connectors.
