Removal and Installation

Direct-Connect SRS Connectors

Direct-connect SRS Component Connectors

The following SRS components use direct-connect style harness connectors.

Driver air bag module

-

Front passenger air bag module

-

LH side curtain air bag module

-

RH side curtain air bag module

-

Front LH seat belt pre-tensioner

-

Front RH seat belt pre-tensioner

Always pull up to release black locking tab prior to removing connector from SRS component. 

Always push down to lock black locking tab after installing connector to SRS component. When locked, the black locking tab is level with the connector
housing.

Front Side Air Bag Module

FRONT SIDE AIR BAG MODULE / Removal

WARNING: Removal of front side air bag module should only be done to allow deployment of front side air module prior to disposal of

seatback assembly. Only complete seatback assemblies can be replaced. Refer to Seat Back / Service and Repair. See: Body and
Frame/Seats/Seat Back/Service and Repair

CAUTION: Before servicing SRS, turn the ignition switch off, disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes.

Always work from the rear of the front side air bag module.

1. Remove the front seat.

Refer to Seats / Service and Repair / Front Seat.

2. Remove the seatback trim and pad.

Refer to Seat Cushion / Service and Repair "SEAT-BACK TRIM AND PAD".

3. Remove the seatback rear finisher, and remove the retainers securing the seat cushion trim.
