SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 2002 Altima has the following symptom(s):

A Hum or buzz noise from the audio system speakers.

^

The Hum or buzz noise may be coming from one speaker or multiple speakers.

^

Tone and volume of the noise may be affected by the operation of other electrical accessories (i.e. rear window defogger, air conditioning, or power
windows).

Determine if there is a loose connection or bent/damaged pin terminal at connector M73.

^

Use the Service Procedure in this bulletin to locate and inspect connections at terminal M73 if this incident should occur.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Confirm the incident as described in the Service Information.

2.

Remove the glove box. See the Service Manual (ESM), page IP-14, for glove box removal instructions.

3.

Remove the plastic connector support shown in Figure 1.
