Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Remove front cover as described under TIMING CHAIN

2.

Turn front cover over and remove oil pump cover.

3.

Visually inspect components for wear or damage. Replace oil pump inner and outer gears, if necessary.

4.

Check oil pressure regulator valve sliding surface and valve spring, then coat with engine oil and replace. Ensure valve moves freely in valve hole.

5.

Replace oil seal and gasket when installing oil pump, then apply engine oil to inner and outer gears.

6.

Install front cover as described under TIMING CHAIN
