Air Induction Valve: Testing and Inspection

AIR INDUCTION VALVE

Apply vacuum to fitting and confirm that air passes from the air cleaner port towards the exhaust manifold port only.
^If diaphragm does not hold vacuum or AIV does not allow air to pass in proper direction replace AIV.

AIV SOLENOID FUNCTION TEST

Apply voltage to the solenoid terminals as shown above and check air passages for continuity.
CAUTION: Reversing polarity will damage the solenoid.
^Replace solenoid if it fails above test.
