Air Intake Duct - Engine Runs Rough/Hesitates

SERVICE INFORMATION

Some of the Applied Models may exhibit an engine rough running condition or intermittent surging/hesitation on acceleration. This condition may be
caused by a loose or disconnected engine air intake duct at the air flow meter (Figure 1). Use the following service procedure to correct this condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Open the vehicle hood and verify if the engine air intake duct is loose or disconnected at the air flow meter.

2.

Push the air duct fully against the air flow meter (Figure 2).

3.

Tighten the clamp screw:

Specification: 0.97 - 1.6 ft-lb (1.3 - 2.2 Nm)
