Diagnosis Procedure

MODE DOOR MOTOR

Description

COMPONENT DESCRIPTION

-

The mode door motor (1) is installed to the A/C unit assembly.

-

Step motor system is adopted for the mode door motor.

-

When a drive signal is input from auto amp. to door motor, a step motor built into the door motor rotates according to the drive signal, and then
stops at the position of target door.

DRIVE SYSTEM OF STEP MOTOR TYPE DOOR MOTOR
-

Motor is actuated in sequence by energizing four drive coils.

-

Rotation direction can be changed by changing pattern of excitation.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK FUSE
Check 10A fuse [No. 2, located in the fuse block (J/B)].

NOTE:
 See: Maintenance/Fuses and Circuit Breakers/Fuse Block/Diagrams.
Is inspection result normal?
YES  - GO TO 2.
NO - Replace fuse after repairing the applicable circuit.
2.CHECK POWER SUPPLY OF MODE DOOR MOTOR
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the mode door motor connector.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Check voltage between mode door motor harness connector and the ground.
