SERVICE INFORMATION

The following pages outline the installation procedure for the new, liquidoil pan gasket which is used when the oil pan is removed for service.

NOTE:

Liquid gasket should not be used on engines originally equipped with a rubber gasket.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove all necessary parts to expose the oil pan.

2.

Remove oil pan bolts.

3.

Lightly tap Seal Cutter (KV10111100) or suitable tool along both sides of the oil pan to separate the pan from the cylinder block.

CAUTION:

DO NOT drive seal cutter into the oil pump or rear oil seal retainer; the aluminum mating face could be damaged.

DO NOT use a screwdriver as a substitute for seal cutter; the oil flange could be damaged.

4.

Use a gasket scraper to remove all debris and old gasket material from the oil pan and cylinder block mating surfaces. Both surfaces must be
completely cleaned. Brake cleaner can be used to remove all oil and solvents on pan surface to insure proper sealing of RTV sealant.
