Fast Idle Control Device (F.I.C.D.): Description and Operation

Pathfinder, Van, 1987-88 Pickup

    The electronic control unit prevents rough idle by sensing idle condition and transmitting a corresponding signal to the idle-up solenoid valve. The
solenoid valve is activated by signals from the crank angle sensor, cylinder head or water temperature sensor, load switches (VG30i), ignition switch and
battery.
