Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Fuse

REMOVAL
1.

Remove fuse for fuel pump (located in the fuse box, behind the drivers knee bolster.)

2.

Turn the ignition to the start position for approximately 15 seconds (this will release the fuel pressure).

3.

Remove the BPT Valve.

Fuel Injector Rail

4.

Remove the fuel rail securing bolts.
NOTE: Make a note or sketch of the position of injector terminals in relation to where the wiring harness was situated. This will aid in
reassembly.

5.

Remove the regulator screws and remove the regulator.
WARNING: Do not place the injector, regulator  or fuel rail in a vise, this may cause irreparable damage.

INSTALLATION
1.

Replace the regulator o-rings and install the regulator.

2.

Torque the screws to 2.8 - 3.8 ft.lbs. (3.8 - 5.1 N-m, 0.39 - 0.52 kg-m) and assemble in reverse order.
