Throttle Body: Testing and Inspection

Throttle Chamber

CAUTION: Do not soak the throttle chamber in carburetor cleaner. Use only a spray type cleaner and compressed air to clean the unit.

Inspect the throttle body for:
^ Fuel and vacuum leaks at fittings, gaskets and throttle shaft
^ Throttle shaft for binding
^ Restricted passages
^ Enlarged passages (from prior insertion of wires or brushes)
^ Torn or damaged seals or gaskets
^ Loose or missing fasteners
^ Weak or damaged springs
^ Missing components
Repair or replace as necessary.
