Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Fuse

REMOVAL
1.

Remove the fuse for the fuel pump (located in the fuse panel in the left knee bolster).

2.

Turn the ignition key to the start position for approximately 15 seconds (this will release the fuel pressure).

Left Engine Block Drain

3.

Remove the engine block drains and drain the coolant.

4.

Remove or disconnect the following:

^Accelerator and cruise control cables (if equipped)
^AAC valve connector
^Throttle sensor and switch connectors
^Ignition coil connector
^Power transistor connector
^EGR solenoid connector
^Air regulator connector
^EGR temperature sensor connector
^Coolant by-pass hoses
^Heater hoses
^Right valve cover vent hose
^Canister vacuum lines
^Power booster vacuum hose
^Fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose
^Canister purge line
^EGR tube
^EFI ground terminals
^Air intake hose
