Refer to NTB98-019a for detail information about the differences between Type-A and Type-B EVAP vent control valves and canisters.

EVAP Canister Inspection

1.

Make sure that no liquid drains from the EVAP canister.

2.

Weigh the EVAP canister (with vent control valve) and confirm that the weight is less than 4 pounds (1.8 kg).

If liquid drains from the canister or if the weight is over 4 lbs. (1.8 kg), install one of the EVAP canisters listed below. Use a new 0-ring (P/N
16618-40U00) when replacing the Type-A canister.

Type-A EVAP canister P/N 14950-1S717 (to be used with Type-A vent control valve P/N 14935-54U06)

Type-B* EVAP canister P/N 14950-1S718 (to be used with Type-B vent control valve P/N 14935-54U04)

NOTE:

Do not reinstall the EVAP canister at this time.

Water Separator Kit Installation

1.

Assemble the 2 hoses supplied in the kit onto the water separator (see Figure 3).

2.

Inspect the plastic connector elbow contained in the water separator kit (see Figure 3).

If the plastic connector elbow has an integral mesh (screen) over the opening of the elbow as shown in Figure 4, insert this elbow into the
