IF YOU CONFIRM

There is a noise coming from the drive belt.

ACTION

Check the following in this order:

1. Belt tension: Check the auto-tensioner function.

2. Belt condition: Check to see if it is oily, dirty, cracked, worn, or has debris on belt grooves.

3. A/C compressor-to-crankshaft pulley alignment. Refer to the Service Procedure in this bulletin for how to check and correct.

NOTE:

Repairs for either the (1) belt tension/auto-tensioner or (2) belt condition (listed above) are not covered in this bulletin. Use standard warranty
procedures as applicable for these repairs, if needed. Reference the applicable Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for these procedures as needed.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Start the engine and confirm if a noise is coming from the drive belt.

2. Turn the engine off.

3. Inspect drive belt auto-tensioner.

NOTE:

Reference the applicable Electronic Service Manual for this procedure as needed. Repairs for the auto-tensioner are not covered in this bulletin. Use
standard warranty procedures as applicable for these repairs, if needed.

4. Visually inspect the drive belt for cracks, fraying, wear, and oil.
