Reference the applicable Electronic Service Manual for this procedure as needed. Repairs for the belt condition are not covered in this bulletin. Use
standard warranty procedures as applicable for these repairs, if needed.

If the drive belt auto-tensioner and drive belt check OK: Proceed to step five (5).

5. Perform the following:

WARNING:

Refer to all warnings and cautions in the ESM regarding the draining of engine coolant.

Drain radiator just enough to remove the upper radiator hose.

Remove upper intake duct.

^

Remove A/C compressor drive belt.

^

Remove upper radiator hose.

^

Remove fan and fan shroud.

Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for removal procedure of the above components.

6. Check for alignment as follows:

The goal is to make sure the pulleys are aligned as true as possible from top to bottom. See Figure 1.

You will be setting a straight edge across the face of the crankshaft pulley to check the distance in the red circle areas of the A/C compressor pulley.
