CAUTION:  Do not damage axle housing.

INSTALLATION 

1. Apply multi-purpose grease to the oil seal lips, and gear oil onto the circumference of the oil seal. Install the front oil seal into the axle housing

using Tool.
Tool number: ST15310000 (-)

CAUTION:

Do not reuse oil seal.

Do not incline oil seal when installing.

Apply multi-purpose grease onto oil seal lips, and gear oil onto the circumference of oil seal.

2. Align the matching mark of the drive pinion with the matching mark B of the companion flange, then install the companion flange.

3. Install the washer (if required), and new drive pinion nut. Tighten the nut until there is zero bearing end play using Tool.

Tool number: KV40104000 (-)

CAUTION:  Do not reuse drive pinion nut and washer.

4. Rotate the drive pinion using Tool. Rotating torque should be equal to the reading recorded in step 4 above during removal plus an additional 0.56

Nm (5 inch lbs.).
