4WD Frontier (D22) with V6 engine only
SERVICE INFORMATION
Use the procedure in this bulletin to repair a 1999 or 2000 4WD Frontier with V6 engine if it exhibits a high-pitched "squeal" noise in the propshaft
center bearing area under hard acceleration. Such a "squeal" if it occurs, may be due to the center bearing rubber insulator deforming under load, and
then folding down over the spinning shaft.
If this incident should occur, replace the center bearing (see Figure 1) using the part number given in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this
bulletin.
For a detailed procedure on propshaft center bearing replacement, please see Nissan Technical Bulletin NTB00-025 (PD99-002).
