Wheel Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

REAR SENSOR 

The rear sensor unit consists of a gear-shaped sensor rotor and a sensor unit. The sensor unit consists of a bar magnet around which a coil is wound.
The sensor rotor is installed on the companion flange and the sensor unit is installed on the rear axle housing. A sine-wave current is generated by the
rear sensor unit as the rear axle pinion rotates. The frequency and voltage increase as the rotating speed increases.
