^ During the initial launch period, TECH LINE may initiate a TSM/DTS visit to review the incident. Collection of parts, including Li-ion battery pack
assembly, may be required.
CHARGING/TESTING A LEAF 12-VOLT BATTERY
TCM Reprogramming (includes TCM initialization)
1. Connect CONSULT III (C-III) to the vehicle to begin the reprogramming procedure.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to charge and/or jump-start the vehicle when the Li-ion battery is charging the 12-volt battery (the #3 indicator light will flash while this
is occurring). See Figure 1.
When charging/testing a LEAF 12-volt battery:
^ Follow the GR-8 user guide.
^ Select LEAF from the MODEL list.
^ If LEAF is not available in the MODEL list, go back and select JIS instead of MODEL. Use the JIS number located on top of the 12-volt battery.
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING WHEN USING CONSULT-III PLUS
CAUTION:
The LEAF diagnostic system is designed to use only CONSULT-III plus.
^ DTCs with the accompanying FF Data information are required to investigate LEAF system components.
