NISSAN GENUINE BUCKLE ASSEMBLY FOR USE WITH CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT

APPLIED MODEL: 
1987 and later Maxima with Automatic Seat Belt System

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A special "Genuine Nissan Buckle Assembly" is now available. The assembly is for use when a child restraint seat is mounted in the front passenger seat
of a Maxima with automatic belts. The buckle assembly is bolted in place between the left seat rail rear and the floor tunnel, as shown in the illustration.
This buckle assembly should be used with the lap belt to hold the child restraint in place--to prevent excessive forward movement in the event of a
sudden stop.

WARNING:

Do not use the standard lap belt buckle supplied for normal passenger use to support a child restraint placed in the front passenger seat. Use the
"Genuine Buckle Assembly" instead. Further information on the proper installation of a child restraint can be found in the Owner's Manual section
titled "Before Driving Your NISSAN."

NOTE:

To improve access to the buckle assembly when installing the child restraint seat, fold the front passenger seat back forward.
