REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect parking brake cable and brake hose.

2.

Remove caliper attaching bolts, then the caliper from vehicle.

3.

Reverse procedure to install.

OVERHAUL

1.

Remove outer spring retainer, if equipped.

2.

Remove pin bolts, then separate cylinder body and torque member.

3.

Remove piston by rotating it counterclockwise with pliers.

4.

Remove ring, adjusting nut, ball bearing, wave washer, spacers and cup from piston, as required.

5.

Pry ring A, Fig. 13, off of cylinder body, then remove spring cover, spring and seat.

6.

Pry ring B off of cylinder body, then remove key plate, pushrod and rod.

7.

Remove O-ring from pushrod, then pry piston seal out of cylinder body.

8.

Remove return spring, nut, spring washer and lever, then adjusting cam and cam boot.

9.

Remove pins and pin boots.

10.

Reverse procedure to assemble.
