SERVICE INFORMATION:

During operation of the applied model, some consumers may complain of a squeaking noise from the rear of the vehicle. This noise may occur on rough
or smooth surfaced roads.

This noise may be caused by the rear window molding rubbing against the body of the vehicle at the bottom center part of the glass (Figure 1).
This incident may be duplicated by pushing on the lower center part of the rear window glass from outside the vehicle.

To understand the nature of this noise, two points need to be emphasized:

The noise can only be detected from inside the vehicle. To eliminate noise created by the rubbing of your hand on the glass, lay a piece of cloth or paper
between the glass and your hand. Depending on the ambient temperature, you may not be able to duplicate this noise by pushing on the glass. If the noise
cannot be verified by pushing on the glass, conduct a road test with someone sitting in the rear seat.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Once this noise has been verified, check for clearance between the rear window molding at the bottom center part of the glass. This can be done by
sliding a piece of paper into the gap between the rear window molding and the body of the vehicle.(Figures 2a and 2b).
