CAN Communication
CAN COMMUNICATION
System Description
CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real time application. It is an on-vehicle multiplex communication line with high data
communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Many electronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle, and each control unit shares
information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with 2
communication lines (CAN H line, CAN L line) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. Each control unit transmits/receives
data but selectively reads required data only. Refer to "CAN System Specification Chart", about CAN communication for detail.

TCS Communication Line
TCS COMMUNICATION LINE
Description
This CAN communication line is used to control the smooth engine operation during the TCS operation. Pulse signals are exchanged between ECM and
"ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)".
Be sure to erase the malfunction information such as DTC not only for "ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)" but also for ECM after TCS related
repair.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
CAN Communication System
-
CAN communication is a multiplex communication system. This enables the system to transmit and receive large quantities of data at high speed
by connecting control units with two communication lines (CAN-H and CAN-L).
-
Control units on the CAN network transmit signals using the CAN communication control circuit. They receive only necessary signals from other
control units to operate various functions.
-
CAN communication lines adopt twisted-pair line style (two lines twisted) for noise immunity.
