If the ECM P/N in the vehicle matches one of those listed under "Current ECM P/N" in Chart A-1 or A-2:

Proceed with this Service Procedure.

Replace the rear oxygen sensor(s)-H02S2.

2000 federal emissions Maximas has only 1 rear 02 sensor (Bank 1); replace it.

Other Maximas have 2 rear 02 sensors (Bank 1 and Bank 2); replace both.
