3. Push the lock mechanism to simulate a closed trunk (see Figure 2.)

4. Make sure all doors are closed.  Push the LOCK button on the remote transmitter to arm the system.

5. Look for the red LED security system light on the dash to verify the system is armed.  The LED should blink once every 2.4 seconds.

6. Tap the lock assembly switch and/or wiggle the wires to the switch.

7. If the alarm is activated, replace the trunk lid lock assembly.

8. Replace the trunk spoiler spacers with the countermeasure spacers (see Figure 3).  Replace the trunk spoiler spacers even if you cannot see

corrosion on the lock assembly switch.

9. Tighten the spoiler retaining nuts to 0.44-0.60 kg-m (3.18-4.34 ft-lb).
