Dash Assembly
APPLIED MODELS: 1985-1986 Maxima
SERVICE INFORMATION
Some Maxima Sedans and Wagons may experience creaking and/or rattling noises in these areas:
1.
Dash, instrument cluster and air conditioning vents
2.
Passenger compartment
3.
Trunk compartment
This bulletin contains Service Procedures to eliminate these vehicle noises. The following countermeasures have been applied to production vehicles
starting in January 1986.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
I.
Dash Noise
Shown below are the areas where dash noises occur most often. Use service procedures A-H as required on the various dash components.

COMPONENT REMOVAL
When removing the components called out in Figure 1, be certain to follow all NOTES and CAUTIONS found in the Body and Frame (BF) Section of
1985-1986 Maxima Service Manuals. Also be certain to completely clean all surfaces to which tape will be applied.
