SERVICE INFORMATION
On some 1985-1988 Maxima vehicles, water mist/fog may be discharged from the center vent or water may leak from the heater floor outlet during air
conditioner operation. This condition usually occurs during periods of high temperatures (85°F and higher) and high humidity (80% or more). Check to
see that the evaporator drain hose is not kinked and the evaporator drain hole is not plugged. If the condition still exists, install the countermeasure
screen kit described below to the evaporator, using the Service Procedure found in this Technical Bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove cooling unit from vehicle. Refer to Section HA in the Service Manual. Cap both the cooling unit and the vehicle pressure tubes while
installing the screen kit.
2.
Remove the inlet and outlet seals from cooling unit case (Figure 1).
