SERVICE INFORMATION

Some of the Applied Models may exhibit power steering fluid on the outside of the steering gear boots.  Before removing and rebuilding the steering
gear, check the tightness of the hose clamps on the fluid return line between the pinion housing and the fluid reservoir.  If these clamps are loose, fluid
can drip onto the boots and give the appearance of a leak from inside the boots.  Check the clamps at the locations shown below.

Maxima & Stanza Steering Gear

There may be three clamps on the rubber hose over the passenger side boot.  The center clamp is there to secure a noise-reducing orifice at the middle of
the hose.  Do not overtighten this clamp.
