Remove the retainer cover bolts (12 mm), cover, gasket, spring and retainer (Figure 6).

Remove the rear housing cover cap and snap ring (Figure 7). Carefully tap on the bottom of the pinion shaft with a soft-faced hammer to drive the
pinion assembly and rear housing cover out of the pinion housing. The large pinion ball bearing may come out with the pinion or remain in the
pinion housing.

Use Cylinder Lock Nut Wrench J35995 to loosen the cylinder end housing lock nut first (Figure 8). Remove the cylinder end housing from the
cylinder assembly. Tap gently on the housing with a soft-faced hammer.
