VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN, 1985 AND 1986 MAXIMA WINDSHIELD RETENTION
AUTHORIZATION
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Tokyo, Japan authorizes Nissan Motor Corporation in U.S.A. (NMC) to conduct a recall campaign on some 1985 and 1986
Nissan Maxima model vehicles.
INTRODUCTION
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has determined that during the installation of the front windshield glass to the body, the manufacturing technique at one assembly
plant manufacturing Maxima vehicles may have resulted in insufficient thickness of adhesive in the contact area between the bottom of the front
windshield glass and the body.
All owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by letter to bring their vehicle to a Nissan dealer to have additional adhesive applied to the bottom of
the windshield free of charge. A copy of the owner's letter is shown on page RC-12 for your information.
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
The Department of Transportation has assigned identification number 86V-096 to the campaign. This number must appear on all communications and
documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.
NOTE:
The small number to the right of the bulletin date is the number sequence of the documents published for this campaign.

SERIAL NUMBER AND MODEL AFFECTED
1985 and 1986 year model Maxima (U11) series Wagons and Sedans manufactured at the Nissha-Hiratsuka Plant only and built within the affected VIN
range (Table 1 on page RC-7). Sedans manufactured at the Oppama Plant are not included in this campaign.
