REQUIREMENT

APPLIED VEHICLE:
All 2003 Murano (Z50)

SERVICE INFORMATION

If the CVT/Xtronic transmission in the Murano (Z50) requires service, a new type of CVT transmission fluid MUST be used. The new fluid is CVT
Fluid NS-2.

The New Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2

Nissan's new CVT transmission contains internal components that require the use of Nissan CVT NS-2 transmission fluid only! See Part Number
below.

Only Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 is especially formulated to meet the exacting requirements of this new RE0F09A transmission.

CAUTION:

Do NOT use any other A/T fluid for this transmission, use only Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2.

Use of any other automatic transmission fluid (such as Nissan Matic D or J) will cause deterioration in driveability and transmission durability.

^

If this new transmission is damaged by the use of any other A/T fluid, it may not be covered by NISSAN warranty.

CVT Fluid Level Indicator

To help prevent accidental use of ATF other than Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2, the fluid level indicator has a warning label that says "Only Nissan CVT
Fluid NS-2".

To use the level indicator the retaining clip must be released/depressed.

After the CVT level has been checked, reinstall the level indicator and insure it's securely clipped/locked.

NOTE: 

Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 is the ONLY approved fluid for use in Nissan's new CVT transmission REOFO9A. A claim to Nissan for warranty, service
contract, or goodwill repairs to the RE0F09A transmission may be denied if Genuine Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 is not used as specified in this bulletin.
